Hi, my name is Jacob Holbeck. I'm a 21 year old filmmaker located in South East Queensland and as you can tell, I love making films and screen media. My favourite director is Ishiro Honda, and my favourite films are 12 Angry Men, Batman Forever, and King Kong vs. Godzilla, specifically the original domestic cut. Yes, I'm that type of guy, but don't let that dissuade you from running with me. Take that as a sign of how much I love movies.
I first started out making terrible home movies, which are lost to time. I properly studied film in high school, but I truly fell in love with it at TAFE. There I was able to truly spread my wings as a creative and create films that were truly out of the ordinary. I won an award for Best Visual Effects at the TAFE LUMA Film Festival. I graduated in August of 2026, and I'm currently preparing to study at Griffith University starting in March of 2027.

In high school, I first cut my teeth with HD Sony Handycams, although we later shifted over to Canon DSLRs for our final year. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact model of the latter.
When I was studying at TAFE Queensland, we predominantly used Blackmagic branded cameras, namely the 4K and 6K Pocket Cinema Cameras, as well as the Ursa G2 Cameras. Near the end of the course, we were allowed to use their brand new Sony FX3 and FX6 cameras.
Since 2021, I have almost exclusively cut with Adobe Premiere, however I also have experience with Adobe After Effects and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. I do most of my image editing work with Adobe Photoshop as well as any external audio recording with Audacity. I also have experience using Windows, Mac and Linux, so I can translate my workflow to and from any device with relative ease.
